Physical Therapist Biography
Heather Fariss is a staff Physical Therapist at the 3090 Physical Therapy Department at Barrow Brain and Spine. She joined the BBS organization at the Ahwatukee location in November 2017 and transferred to the downtown Phoenix location February 2018.
Originally from Colleyville, Texas, Heather attended The University of Texas at Arlington and received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in May 2013. She then attended UT Southwestern in Dallas, TX where she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in December 2015. Throughout PT school, Heather also worked as a contract Athletic Trainer with Ben Hogan Sports Medicine where she provided medical coverage for various sporting events throughout the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex. Following PT school, Heather worked for an Orthopedic/Sports Medicine private practice PT clinic in Dallas, TX for 2 years before transferring to Arizona in May 2017.
Heather is Trigger Point Dry Needling certified and has pursued continuing education in functional manual therapy, visceral mobilization, myofascial release, and exercise prescription. Heather’s treatment model consists of addressing the individual mechanical dysfunctions followed by rehabilitating neuromuscular facilitation to promote optimum motor control and function. Her interests include nutrition, pilates and exercise, hiking, spending time with her friends and family, and traveling with her boyfriend and dog.
