COVID-19

November 24, 2020 | Posted In: Newsroom

Barrow Brain and Spine (BBS) is committed to continuing to meet the needs of our community, patients, employees, and hospital partners during the presence of COVID-19 in Arizona. This is an update from our offices as we continue to provide world-class destination care for brain, spine, physical therapy, and sports medicine condition(s) at all of our clinic locations and hospital partners locations, including St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Barrow Neurological Institute, Honor Health Osborn Medical Center, Chandler Regional Medical Center, and Honor Health Deer Valley Medical Center.

At this time, BBS continues to encourage our patients to consider the benefits and reduced exposure risks that telehealth and video visits offer as an option for their appointment, as available by their physician. If you would prefer a telehealth visit, please let your physician’s office know when you call to make an appointment. Many of our clinical and administrative employees will remain working remotely at this time to ensure additional safety so please leave a message if you do not speak with someone. Our staff are monitoring the phone lines continuously and will return your call promptly.

Effective December 1, 2020, BBS offices and many hospitals are closed to any visitor(s) with very limited exceptions such as a caregiver, medical personnel, or a parent of a minor patient. If you need assistance for your upcoming appointment, please call your physician’s office and make them aware of your needs. Most importantly, please stay home if you feel sick or have any symptoms or a pending or positive COVID test. We are happy to reschedule any upcoming appointments you may have until your symptoms are resolved.

BBS office hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm. We are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. If you are calling us to schedule / reschedule an appointment, get results, or for any other non-urgent matter, please call back during office hours. If you have an emergent need, call 911, head to the nearest emergency room, or contact our on-call physician.

BBS administration maintains close communication with all our employees to ensure their exposure is limited for the safety of both our patients and other employees. Our physicians and administration continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and will keep our patients abreast of any changes to services.

Sincerely,

Eric J. Chappell, CMPE
Chief Operating Officer
