Gaining the Confidence You Deserve In Your Brain Or Spine Diagnosis

Deciding to pursue a second opinion is an important step in your medical journey. In fact, we created our Second Opinion Program to encourage shared knowledge, deeper understanding, and complete confidence. Second opinions are a standard practice in the medical world, and you owe it to yourself and your loved ones to feel secure in your care team. And you can rest easy knowing we press for answers where none exist to ensure you feel comfortable and confident in your care.

You should not expect an in-depth and lengthy explanation of your diagnosis as you would during a face-to-face consult. Rather, our neurosurgeon will express their opinion on your diagnosis or proposed treatment and offer some brief guidance regarding what your next steps should be.

Barrow’s Expertise Knows No Bounds

We’re sought out for our opinions because we’ve seen it all — from the rarest diseases, to the most complex conditions and procedures. We welcome medical peers from more than 48 countries each year to learn from our neurosurgeons, which means you have the best, most capable experts caring for you. Our physicians possess the broad knowledge designed to put their deep and integrated expertise to use, focusing on the fields of:

  • Aneurysms and neurovascular disorders
  • Brain tumors
  • Pituitary tumors
  • Spine care
  • Deep brain stimulation
  • Pain management and rehabilitation

How Our Neurosurgical Second Opinion Program Works

Our second opinions are based on individualized review of your private and secure medical records. While nothing can replace an in-person consultation or examination, our neurosurgical team will provide a recommendation based on their collective assessment of the imaging and records you provide. Based on these insights, you can feel empowered to make the most informed decision about your health, whether it be surgical or nonsurgical.

A $100 payment by credit card, along with your securely shared medical information (including diagnostic MRI or CT images and corresponding radiologist report) is needed to complete the Second Opinion Program enrollment. Once we have everything we need, you can expect to hear back from us within seven business days or less.

A Seamless Treatment Experience From Start to Finish

Throughout your second opinion experience, our program coordinator will guide you from start to finish. From the time you seek the opinion, through to the final recommendation, you’ll have a solid understanding of your role in the process, as well as ours.

Once our team reviews your case, you’re free to share that diagnosis with anyone of your choosing. You’re not obligated to seek care at Barrow Brain and Spine, however we’ve experienced many patient success stories through this program. It’s solely our goal to ensure you feel confident in your path forward.  If you have any questions, please contact us at (602) 406-3396.
